Firrhill High School is a six year comprehensive school situated in the south west of Edinburgh.  The school occupies an attractive site overlooking the Pentland Hills and has a roll of 1160 pupils and over 120 staff.  Our newly refurbished and extended accommodation provides an excellent learning environment for our pupils.

At Firrhill, we are focused on developing the whole child and provide many opportunities for young people to achieve success.  Through high quality learning and teaching from our committed and caring staff we provide a supportive and challenging educational experience.  We have a strong record of academic achievement and provide a wide curriculum to meet the range of pupils’ needs while our programme of extra-curricular activities, trips and other events enhance learning and develop a range of skills including team-work, self-confidence and leadership.

Our shared values of mutual respect between staff and pupils, high expectations of success within a caring and supportive environment form the basis of our positive school ethos.  Within our wider school community, we promote tolerance and understanding of one another and value diversity.

In ensuring your child is happy and successful at  Firrhill, we recognise the importance of strong partnerships with parents.  All parents are welcome to contact the school at any time to discuss your child and I invite you to further strengthen our partnership through your involvement in our Parent Forum meetings.

We are proud of the many achievements of our pupils and I assure you of our commitment to make the school careers of our pupils challenging, successful and happy.
